The Department of English and German Studies of the University of Córdoba includes teachers, PhD students and administrative staff, being one of the largest Departments of the University of Cordoba. It is divided into two areas of knowledge, English Studies and German Studies, in each of which three large study areas are present: Linguistics, Literature and Applied Linguistics. This Department currently teaches in the Faculties of Humanities, Education, Law, Labour Sciences, Medicine and Health Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, as well as in the Engineering School and the Nursing School. Likewise, the teaching staff belonging to this Department teaches subjects in 20 Bachelor’s Degrees and 6 Master’s Degrees, in which, apart from the skills mentioned above, students are introduced to scientific reflection and are offered basic research training with a view to taking specialised PhD Programmes.

As regards research lines, there are currently several teams and research groups. Our teaching staff leads and participates in various regional, national and international projects, focusing on lines of research linked to the fields of Linguistics, Literature, Culture and Bilingual Education.
