After obtaining a degree in English Studies at the University of Córdoba, he worked for an academic year in the Illinois Public Schools system, as Title 1 teacher in Aurora (IL), developing bilingual literacy with Hispanic children.
Back in Spain, he obtained a PhD. in Education and started teaching as a lecturer in 2008 at the English and German Studies Department. For 8 years, he was English coordinator at the University Language Center. He was director of the International Relations Office at the University of Córdoba for 3 years. Nowadays, he is coordinator for Language Policy at UCO.
His research interests are language teaching/learning, intercultural communicative competence and cultural studies.
