Susana Vioque Rocha was born in 1976 in Berne (Switzerland) where she studied primary and secondary school. She got her degree in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Granada (Spain) in 2001 with specialization in legal and economic translation, German as the first foreign language and English as the second foreign language. In her doctoral thesis (2016) she analysed how the mother tongue (L1, Spanish), the first foreign language (L2, English) and the second foreign language (L3, German) influence each other in the acquisition of the phonology of stops and affricate. Her lines of investigation are focused in studies about linguistic interferences among English and German as foreign languages and comparative studies about the German, English and Spanish phonetic and phonological system. The scientific contributions to congresses and seminars as well as the scientific publications are integrated in these both lines of investigation. Since 2018 she has took part in the organizational committee of the seminar about Swiss studies whose activities are carried out in the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature at the University of Córdoba with the collaboration of the Swiss Embassy in Madrid. Few months ago, she started working with a research group concerned in improving the quality of life of students with special needs in their linguistic acquisition in foreign languages.
Related to her professional work, in 2004 she started teaching different German courses in A1, A2 and B1 levels at Ucoidiomas, the language official center of the University of Córdoba. At the moment she is working at the University of Cordoba as interim lecturer at the Department of English and German Studies teaching German as a second language in different bachelor degrees and in the master of foreign trade and business internationalization.
