Description:
Research in English and Related Literature (HUM-682) is a research team devoted to the study of literary texts written in English from the early modern period to the present. The team is chiefly made up of members of the Department of English Studies (Departamento de Filologías Inglesa y Alemana) in the University of Córdoba, Spain, and it receives its funding from the regional government of Andalusia. Other members work in public educational institutions of the area. The team aims to provide a useful working platform for a broad range of persons interested in pursuing scholarly research in the field of English literature. The team, founded in 1995 by Bernd Dietz, has promoted since its inception research among graduate students willing to complete their doctoral dissertations under the guidance of any of its members. The research interests of the team are quite diverse, ranging from renaissance drama to translation theory, but there is a conspicuous focus on poetic and narrative texts produced in postcolonial nations like Canada, India, South Africa or the USA. The individual and joint efforts of its members have resulted in various publications.
